Cherece & I both live in Tucson, AZ---& we are super zealous about leaving the state this time of year! Why? It is HOT.
We've been heading north on an annual basis for yrs.
We congregate at my grandpa's house in Kimberly, Idaho. Erick lives near there in Twin Falls, Idaho.
This year my parents couldn't make it (sadness!)
For those of you who don't know, Kaye & Morgan are otherwise occupied serving a mission within their stake boundaries (dad is the branch president in Concordia, KS.) Kammi also opted out this year, since my parents were awol.
Cherece & I were still as motivated as ever to 'get the heck out of dodge'. Our husbands were too, since they are both pyromaniacs & it is illegal to shoot off your own fireworks in AZ due to fire hazard.
It was a splendid trip. My 90 year old grandpa opted out of going to the parade in Rupert, claiming he had to "take a nap"....lo & behold he mowed the lawn while we were out. Now you know where my mom gets her energy!! She is a chip off the ol' block!
My grandpa's garden is AMAZING! It puts the rest of us to shame! Not only does he grow his own produce---he supplies the neighbors!
In case it isn't obvious to you, Erick's wife, Marnae, is 8 months prego with #4. They will have 4 kiddos under the age of 5.
The new addition due to arrive in August is another girl. So their oldest, Carter, will have to hold his own with a lot of estrogen in the house. Erick has had some experience with that, so I'm sure he'll be able to talk the tyke through it.
